Welcome to Ken's Blog Spot (KM3)

| Blog #165 Posted August 25, 2010 Tuesday's News-Times front page article about Republican Chris LaRocque's "mistake" of trying to swindle the tax payers over $90 in donations shows just how petty the candidates have become this year. His opponent, Chris Lyddy (D) states that, and I quote, "Newtown voters deserve honest leaders who act with integrity on their behalf. LaRocque's campaign has violated that trust by attempting to defraud the public". $90, spread out over 18 voters (about 12% of the total required) represents $5 each. Just how much time should be spent on this silliness? If he knew this might really quash his chances to get the $26,000 funding (we're talking $90 remember), don't you think he would look for more donations/voters? Mr Lyddy, up until now, I kind of liked you. but if this is your best shot, fugetaboutit! I'll overlook the detail that both candidates were named after Christ. |
Blog #166 Posted Sept. 3, 2010 For those of you who don't get the local papers, he quit his bid for office and present position in politics because of the problems created by not checking his donations and those who signed up to suppoort him so he could get the 25K state political contribution. Mea Culpa. However, I will not back down from my belief that his opponent, Chris Liddy, should have kept his mouth shut until all the dust settled. Turns out he really had to do nothing but sit back and watch the free fall. Now he just looks like another politician badmouthing his opponent which was my original issue. |
Blog #162 Posted August 5, 2010 On TV, however, I get the real dirt about each candidate from their opponents. I'd probably be in jail if I did all they are accused of. |
Blog #163 News Flash: 25% of conservative Republicans still think Obama is a Muslim and 18% of all Americans believe he is. 1) So what? 2) I can't believe these people are roaming amongst us. It's enough that they are scaring themselves. They are starting to scare me with their rhetoric. I wonder what else they believe. The good news? This type of politics is not new and actually started with Hamilton and Jefferson (Republicans and Federalists) during the other "W" administration in the late 1780's and will, most likely, continue long after we are dead. |
Blog #164 I had the opportunitiy to visit my cousin Don Mackenzie, who lives in Kutztown, Pa for his 70th birthday and Highland Games which he hosts/runs on his property. Although these guys are not professionals, they were impressive and all the work of that day goes into a national register. There was the (19lb rock toss - going about 40 ft, 30 lb hammer throw - longest was 103 ft, 16 lb sheaf toss - a 16 lb bag of packed hay tossed over a bar (max here was about 26 ft high) with a pitch fork, caber toss -16ft x 100lbs and weight toss- 42 and 56 lbs, the lighter for those over 45. Distances were ofter about 60 ft. The shoes with the blades attached are used to hold the user to the ground when doing the hammer toss which is tossed backwards.I'd love to attach some video, but this program won't handle anything over 20 megs. |
| Update to Blog #158 Posted June 18, 2010 And keep the damned politicians and tree huggers out also. I can't believe the Republicans (the most recent being Joe Barton) are taking cheap shots at the President at a time like this. And the envrionmentalists can go to Hell also since their constant complaining about not drilling in our wilderness and in the shallows of our coast line has caused the the likes of BP to go out where no one can see them surpassing the limits of technical abilities. And thanks also to the Bush administration for taking all the teeth out of the control mechanisms which help set the stage for this debacle. |
Blog #160 Posted July 1, 2010 Jesus Returning? There was a statistic recently quoted on CNN stating that 40% of Americans believe that Jesus will return within the next 40 years. Oh? Did I miss something? After much thought, I do have a few questions though. 1) Who thought up this question and why? 2) Who was asked? Not me or anyone I know. 3) Why now? Was it written that the early part of the 21st century was the appropriate time? 4) Where will he land? That's what you do once you have escaped the "bounds of the earth". How long would he last if he came back to the Middle East, the only home he ever knew, and what would that do to the area once he was found out? Remember, there was no right wing Christian US in his time. 5) What/who will he return as? 6) Will he be mad? 7) How will he get here? 8) Will he still be bleeding? 9) Will he be able to speak English or Spanish (or is that Spanish or English)? 10) Does anyone really care? Hey, Nike or Crocks! Hey, Lands End! Imagine what this could do for your business. Picture all that 40% wearing robes and sandal-not just the guy on the street conrer with the "The end is coming" sign. |
Blog #161 Posted July 1, 2010 74 Sued Front page news yesterday says "74 sued in fatal crash". For those of you who don't know, a drunken local business owner killed himself and a friend while speeding in his 24' "formula" speedboat late at night (you know, in the dark) when he plowed full speed into a fishing boat as he was cutting through a narrows near an island on Candlewood Lake. OK, one more drunk off the road. But, wait! Now the lawyer for the estate of the drunk's dead friend is sueing 74 (yes that's right . . 74) different people/organizations, including those injured men in the fishing boat and all the other bass fishermen in the tournament (even though they weren't all on the water), tournament organizers, both men in the fishing boat, the Candlewood Lake Authority and ALL his staff in ALL 5 municipalities (most were home asleep in bed where the dead drunk should have been), and will sue the DEP as soon as it gets approval to do so. Well, if this suit doesn't prove the "it's all about the money" theory with lawyers, nothing will. Just think what the lawyer will make on this. Only in America. |
| Blog #157 Posted March 4, 2010 Yesterday, I diligently put my recyclables out for early next day pick up. There were news papers (one bundle), magazines (one bundle) cardboard (one large bundle), one green bin (full) and 2 plastic garbage bags full of cans and bottles. When I went out this morning I found it all gone except the 2 plastic bags. Irate, I called the DPW to get an understanding of the "rules" on recycle pick up. Wouldn't you know the driver must take the stuff in the green bin, the news papers, the magazines and cardboard. I said: "But it would have taken 5 seconds to empty the bags. The driver was standing right next to them." I was politely told that they weren't required to pick up the cans, etc if they are in plastic bags. She suggested that if I used a paper bag, he would pick it up. I said: "But, if I used a paper bag, it would have disintegrated in the rain and snow and he probably doesn't take loose pieces." She agreed. She suggested a second bin. I said: Maybe I'll just put out 3-5 pieces per week. "He would have to take them", she said. Why do I even go there? However, did anyone ever notice that in some surrounding towns, all bottles and cans are put out in plastic bags? Ah, rules . . . . |
Blog #158 Posted June 6, 2010 After over 6 weeks of pumping oil into the gulf, animals dieing and beaches and estuaries being dirtied, American frustration has reached the expected level that we need our politicians to show how angry they are. The press has started the games of "who is most angry" and "is he showing enough anger". Is Obama angry enough? Well, guess what folks . . I can tell you that, as a person who does not get angry during crisis times, WE DO NOT NEED ANGRY. We do need someone with a cool head. We need people like Obama and Admiral Allen. This should not end up as a battle of lawyers, newsmen and emotionalists. It should be a battle of engineers. Keep the rest out. |
Blog #159 Posted June 16, 2010 So Gary Whatshisname (doesn't matter) is on a one man crusade to kill Bin Laden after what happened on 9/11. He's been over "there" on numerous occasions following up leads on "B's" wherabouts. This time, however, he was caught by the authorities carrying a sword, knife, pistol, night vision goggles and "religious materials". His brother, a doctor, said he is not a nut case (Yeah, right.). He said he just feels strongly about this issue. By the way did anyone see Gary's photo? He looks just like Ted Kazinski. Ted just felt strongly about an issue also. |
| My name is Ken Mackenzie. I have lived in Newtown for the past 43 years and since 1978, have made maple syrup using trees on my property. I am what the industry refers to as a "backyard" sugarer and make only about 10 gallons/yr. Most of you have had real maple syrup and probably have seen quaint photos of gathering and boiling, but I'll bet most don't know what actually goes into making the sweet natural stuff. Sugaring season in southern CT starts around the first or second week of February and runs to the end of March. We need above freezing days (35 and up) along with below freezing nights (ideally 20-25) to get good sap flow. If it gets too warm or too cold, the sap won't flow. Toward the end of March the sap chemistry changes as the tree's buds start to grow and it develops a sour flavor that, when concentrated makes for a very foul tasting syrup. Sap is only about 1-3% sugar. It looks like water and has a mildly sweet taste. It takes about 45 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup, so it's easy to understand why it is so expensive. Aunt Jamima, Log Cabin, Vermont Maid and similar products are made up of only about 2% real maple syrup. They are cheaper but don't taste nearly as good. My evaporator is only 2' wide and 3' long and takes wood the size of my forearm. You can imagine how much work is involved in cutting, splitting and stacking. I burn about 3/4 of a cord during a season and collect about 450 gallons of sap. The evaporator can boil off about 8 gallons of water vapor/hr. To put my operation into proper perspective, commercial houses can make 15 gallons/hr in formal 6' wide by 15' long evaporators. After the syrup reaches about 219 degrees (specifically 7 1/4 degrees above the boiling point of water), it is poured off through paper and felt filters. From there it is bottled and allowed to cool. I give about half of my product away as gifts to friends and relatives. The balance I sell. Most of my syrup falls into the amber or medium amber category. The lighter syrup is considered better by the industry as it has a more delicate flavor. I and most of my friends and customers prefer the darker more hearty flavor. It is a lot of work, even for a small operation like mine, but the rewards are SWEET. |

| Blog #154 Posted Feb. 9, 2010 Toyota brake/gas pedal problems have taken over the news media with even more coverage than the war in Afganistan and the economy. At the risk of insulting the families of the 19 people who have died as the result of electronic failures in their cars, I would like to point out that this represents a miniscule part of total Toyota ownership, certainly way less than those Toyota owners killed in accidents of their own making and only .05% of the total highway deaths in the US alone (that's about 85/day). I'm not suggesting that Toyota wasn't trying to hide their problems or that they shouldn't be fixed ASAP or that the families shouldn't be compensated. What I am suggesting is that we Americans should stop being so myopic. The instant news sources have made it possible for us to learn about the death of virtually everyone, especially if it can be considered horrific such as the grandmother who launched her Camry into a tree because the throttle failed to function properly. The government has a political need to jump in to save the day (read get re-elected) and in the process possibly destroy one of the best car manufacturers in the world. Let's try not to lose track of the realities involved as it relates to all the other dangers we face every day. Toyota: Hang in there, solve your problems and move on. Remember when Ford and Firestone were just about to go out of business? You do remember, don't you? |
Blog #155 Posted Feb. 10, 2010 Now Toyota is even deeper in the doo doo. Brakes are failing . . . OMG! |
Blog #156 Posted Feb. 10, 2010 Question: How come every time we have a big snow storm, there is a run on snow shovels? One CT hardware store told WFSB that they sold over 200 shovels in one afternoon. What happened to the shovels from the last storm? Are shovels a consumable item good for only one event? Here's one for you. What hardware store would even consider an inventory of 200 snow shovels? |
| Blog #152 Posted Jan. 12, 2010 In a classic lawmakerrunningforofficeagain move, one state man now is pushing to require seat belts in all school buses. Forget the cost (20- 30K) per bus, Forget that this was the first fatality in Connecticut since day one. Forget that the driver shouldn't have been driving that bus. Now repeat after me: If it saves just one life . . . Isn't it interesting that we can get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt in our own car, arrested for not making our kids use them or improperly installing a child seat, but they aren't required in a bus. I'm not advocating, I'm just sayin'. We are all sorry for the bright young student who's life was snuffed out at such a early age, but we as a country have to get past making a new law every time someone is injured, dies or is running for office. Gawd, this sounds like (and makes as much sense as) the health care debate . . change a few words, $$$ signs, etc . . . . |
Blog #153 Posted Jan. 15, 2009 So, Pat Robertson thinks that the Devil did it (caused the earth quake in Haiti) because the Haitians made a pact with him (the Devil) to get rid of the French 200 years ago and Rush Limbaugh* (must still be smoking medical marjiuana and taking other meds at the same time) is pointing his finger at Obama who, as we know, is reveling in the agony of the "light" and dark skinned Negros in Haiti (See Harry Reid boner). Don't believe me? Check out CNN. Where do these guys get this s--t!!!!! The scary part is that these Nut Cases have an audience. If I had a Republican membership card, I'd tear it up. These guys and the rest of the RNC make me sick. And the media who promotes it make me sick. Here we are with all kinds of economic, security and other problems and all this group (the RNC) has said is "NO" and slam it. I'm discusted with them all. Don't call me in November when it's time to vote!. You won't want to hear what I have to say. I am sick,. sick, sick of your BS!!! *I looked up Ancestry.com. Limbaugh means village idiot. |
| Blog #149 Posted Dec. 18, 2009 Listening to the vice President on CNN the other day, Joe Biden was explaining the workings of the Congress and Senate, detailing how things got done and votes were made. I realized that if anyone is confused, all one has to do is watch a couple of episodes of Survivor to understand. Try it. |
Blog #150 Posted Dec. 18, 2009 I've seen on a number of news programs that about 75% of Americans either don't want their healthcare changed or are afraid that they will be negitavely effected by a change. Considering that the only information we have gotten in the last 8 months is from various organizations that are surely sponsored by the Rebublicans going on ad nausium about how we will get screwed if this bill passes and since we have heard nothing in defense of the plan (what ever it is), why should we be surprised at the poll results. Duh! What I thought I was paying my esteemed representives for was to SOLVE the problem. So far, all that has happened is the usual Democrat/Republican food fight. Personally, I'm sick of it! |
Blog #151 Posted Jan. 12, 2010 Harry Reid isn't my favorite person, but lets get a grip on the reactions to his recently released "racist" remarks. It's enough that it was an accurate statement, and wasn't racist but Harry appologized and Obama said fugetaboutit. . . So fugetaboutit for cryin' out loud. We have become so politically correct that we squeek. Does this mean any reference to those of a dark color is incorrect? So, when I filled out a court/jury information questionair recently (they finally caught me up with me), I had to check a box labeled "race". There was a box for Native American, Latin American, African American Aisan (I quess they haven't been here long enough to be called "American"), White and other. I checked other, naturally, and wrote in Scottish American . . . just to be politically correct. How could a Scot be offended one might ask. Well, you can call me Ray, you can call me hey, just don't call me cheap. And, I get so tired of being asked if I wear underwear. You don't ask that of African Americans do you? |

Blog #147 Posted Nov. 20, 2009 What's up with the yellow. I mean BRIGHT yellow. In the last 3 weeks, its shown up in advertisements, commercials and on TV shows (news and talk shows) This is so brilliant, one can not miss it. Girls are wearing dresses and skirts and men (and some not so men) ties that look like the sun in the Jimmie Dean sausage commercials (only brighter). Does someone have a patent on it that just ran out or what? I'll have to get a tie or something. On second thought, it ain't going to happen. By the way, visit granddaughter Logan's poem "What is Yellow" on on the Home page. She wrote it about a year ago. |
Blog #148 Posted Dec. 10, 2009 He went from being one of the richest and most respected sports figures to bum in less than 2 weeks. Can you say "IMPLOSION"? All because he's a lousy driver. |
| Blog #144 Posted Sept. 8, 2009 Circle the wagons! Head for the cellar! Put cotton in your kid's ears and bags over your their heads! Turn off your TVs and radios! Obama is going to try to brain wash our kids tomorrow (9/8/09) and make, what?, lemmings or zombies out of them. Not since the Pied Piper and Hansel and Gretel have we had such a scare (They were real, right?). There is still time if you act now!!! God! I'm going to stuff the g-childs under the bed. Obama must be a commie or a pinko or an "evil doer" or a Nazi or something like that. He certainly can't be a right wing, conservative, mid west Republican wing nut. |
Blog #145 Posted Oct. 7, 2009 I've been trying to make sense of all the fuss about health care change, but all that comes out of it is the Democrats saying we need a public option and Republicans saying it's just a tactic for the Gov't to take over. The populus (that's us) is so afraid the Gov't will screw it up, they don't want any change. Isn't is great that it's all so simple? My take is and has been: Our illustrious Gov't has been trying to "fix" health care for 50 years. What makes them think they can do it now? Hey out there! Fix it a piece at a time. What really caused me to write this blog is that the latest AARP news magazine has an article about this issue (health care) and I'll paraphrase. In 1971 Nixon (Republican) tried to introduce legislation to revise health care. It was shot down by Ted Kennedy who later said it was a missed opportunity. Now the Democrats have proposed a very similar bill and the Republicans are shooting it down. Get the picture? The answer is simple: If our gov't leaders had to live with the same mess they are trying to foist on us, it would get fixed pretty damn quick. |
Blog #142 Posted Aug. 31, 2009 The image shown below is so far over the top, I can't just paraphrase it. These people are running our Gov't. Now I am scared. This falls under the catagory of "put it out there and someone will believe it". US citizens have been waiting for 50 years for our Gov't to fix the health system and this is what we get? ![]() |
Blog #143 Posted Sept. 1, 2009 Now this has to be the wininer for the most inventive way for CT to raise money for this year's budget. The CT DEP has sued the CT DOT (read the state is suing itself) for allowing the contractor who is building the new Rte 7 just south of Danbury to dump gravel into a wet lands (we used to call it a swamp). After months of trying to figure out what to do, they (the DEP) in their infinate wisdom, decided fine the DOT. The final resolution was an out of court settlement (always cheaper) of $250,000 which the DOT will pay to the DEP which it will use to count fish in the state (or something like that). Neat, huh? If we follow this logic, maybe we could eliminate taxes altogether. Yep, I rest easy knowing that I won't have to worry about how my taxes are being used and that Rte 7 may finally be completed. I will, however, worry about all the little creatures buried under the gravel being trampled into the muck each time I pass over them whilst heading south on Rte 7 at a now even greater speed. |
| Addendum to Blog #141 Posted Aug. 1, 2009 7/31/09 I was wrong (below). The Crowley/Gates thing has NOT settled down. The fact that the media, the black media in particular, and the black community, without actually saying so, still believe by their continuing words about learning, etc, that any white cop who arrests a black man (especially a prominent professor) is profiling . . . period. So, nothing has, in fact, been learned. Only one black correspondent and Crowley's black Sgt. partner who was there at the time of the arrest (and has been accused of being an "Uncle Tom"), has spoken out in favor of how Crowley handled the situation. Crowley and Gates have, after having a beer (different beers), respectfully agreed to disagree. |
Blog #140 Posted July 17, 2009 So here we are, once again, being forced by the media to watch the food fight ad nausium over Judge Sotomayor's entry into the lifetime job of Supreme Court Judge. She will get in, you know. |
Blog #141Posted July 27, 2009
The authorities have to understand (I believe most do today) that blacks in America have reason not to trust them. |
| Blog #138 Posted July 1, 2009 The freak is dead! The King is dead! The freak: We watched Wacko Jacko morph from a good looking black kid into an ugly white woman. We watched him marry and "produce" three kids under a variety of odd circumstances, We watched him display his last child by waiving it out over an upper story balcony. We saw the theme park dedicated to himself where he openly said it was OK to sleep with little boys. He was the one who invented the crotch holding gesture which is now part of many singers' moves. This guy was a nut case! The King: Michael Jackson produced some of the best pop music ever and that ever may be. He had a world wide fan base. He was, possibly, the most recognized, singer in the world. What a shame that he ended up the same as the likes of Elvis Presley, Anna Nichol Smith and Marilyn Monroe, dying from a drug overdose brought on by too many years of never ending travel, fame and control by all those hangers-on in the music/fame business who oversaw his every move 24/7/365. These same people who professed to love and protect him were, in reality, enablers who helped him die by feeding him a variety of drugs so that he could continue to make money for them. Now all that's left, as expected, is the scrapping over the carcass (his will, assets, money, homes, kids, etc), just like his predecessors. And the media, who is part of it all will drone on and on about him and all the scrapping. Wow, just like Elvis, Jacko is still making money even in death. I guess the good news is that the freak is already fading into oblivion. |
Blog #139 Posted July 1, 2009 Note to S.C. Governor Mark Sanford. Hey Mark, get another script. This one didn't even work for President Clinton (you know, leaking out the "real" truth over a period of time). I will, however, give you an "O" for originality for disappearing and actually keeping your whereabouts a secret for 5 days. |
Addendum to Blog #138 Posted July 14, 2009 Maybe the freak isn't fading just yet. One week after the King died (Note: I didn't say buried), the truth of the scrapping over the carcass has come to be (I just love being right.). Jacko has been confirmed as a prescription drug addict (by CNN anyway); the word "murder" has escaped the lips of authorities (What is the Dr's name?); MJ didn't paint hisself white, he has total body lupus; his dermatologist who said so has been accused of being the real father of MJ's kids (This actually makes sense to me.) and Congresswoman Jackson Lee (Is she related?) who had promised to get a Michael Jackson day or some other BS thru Congress, has failed him (This is one time I can say "Thank you Nancy Pelosi".). The media has moved on, thankfully, past the "memorial bash". The rest we will just have to wait for. See attachment 1 link. |
Blog #135 Posted June 2, 2009 School teacher proves the old axiom (Don't put all your eggs in one basket.) by investing all her retirement money in GM. She did get her 15 minutes of media fame though. |
Blog #136 Posted June 19, 2009 You know, there are times when words just can't properly describe a set of conditions and this is one of them. I've heard it from the news media so many times it must be true, but I still can't believe it. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) actually were upset when the President killed a fly. So much so that they sent him a trap so he could catch the little buggers and set them free. If PETA officials really think this should be an issue, it is easy to understand how radical, violent people could belong to that organization. This is scary stuff. If the media thinks this is news that should go on for days, that is scary stuff. And if PETA thinks flies are animals, that is scary stuff. Memo to PETA: Next time you drive to Washington (or anywhere, for that matter), count the dead bugs (flys included) on your windshield when you reach your destination. We will overlook, for the moment the number of critters (real animals included) that you squashed with your tires on that trip. |
Blog #137 Posted June 19, 2009 I don't know about you, but I worry for my grandchildren as they grow up in a world of scare tactics and half truths presented at fact. Example: A pilot died while flying a passenger jet to an overseas destination (It happens!). The TV show ET commented that the 2 co-pilots on the plane, although in near panic mode, "managed" to get the plane to it's destination safely. Phew! How lucky was that? What CRAP! . . .which is why I worry. The truth: The plane was, mostlikely, on auto pilot at the time and the two copilots who have been trained for just such emergencies, did exactly what they were trained to do. The completed the trip without the captain. Nuff said. |
| Blog #132 Posted April 27, 2009 What was it I was supposed to be worried about before the media got me to believe that the swine flu was what I wa supposed to worry about? |
Blog #133 Posted April 28, 2009 Investments: When the investment market (read mortgage companies) started to crumble, the problem was identified as bad investments, made by poor decisions. When they were outed and the real dirt was known, these same investments were refered to as "toxic assets" because they were poison to the companies who bought them. Now this same paper is being called "legacy assets" because they are still here and will be for the next generation. Don't you just love the English language! |
Blog #134 Written Monday, May 18 Here is it, Monday and my head is already spinning. |
| Blog #130 Posted April 24, 2009 John Murtha, the congressman known for looking out for the little guy, has just squeezed $200 million in stimulus money out of the tax payers to upgrade (are you ready for this?) the John P. Murtha Airport in Johnstown, Pa, his home town (see where this is going?). This is the same airport that got over $8 million a few years ago for a fancy radar system that has never been used. Some of this new money will be for a redux of the "backup" runway (read never used) even though the airport manager says it doesn't need it (how long do you think he will keep his job?). If I recall correctly, our boy, John, jumped on the bridge to nowhere pretty heavily. This airport has 2 commercial flights daily, using prop planes that probably could carry 50 people max. The rest of the time, nothing is going on. And the CNN shots of the terminal are pretty impressive too. You go John! I'm going to stick my neck out here and suggest that Johnstown was named after him also (he certainly looks old enough). Finally, maybe we could use the name (Johnstown) as a new descriptive noun or verb (Johnstowning) meaning (you supply a meaning). Example: " The Republicans were Johnstowning the mortgage companies for the last eight years". Only in America! |
Blog #131 Posted April 24, 2009 Here is some truly disturbing news. Apple recently actually approved a new phone software game called "Shake the Baby" where the gamer shakes the phone in an effort to stop its crying. If you shake it too hard, you have killed the baby shown on the screen when red Xs cover its eyes. Public outrage has caused them to pull the softwhere. Duh! I'm usually immune to this kind of stuff and have a pretty strong stomach, make jokes about the weird things and people in our lives, but this is out of the park. Shaking real babies can, and does, kill them by slaming their brains around in their skulls and or causing neck fractures. How much of a stretch is it for the gamers (kids and teens) to transfer this thinking to people? Hey Apple, Hey Steve Jobs, WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WERE YOU THINKING???? |
| Blog #127 Posted April 13, 2009 RE: Somali pirates: Well, well, well. Shoot the bastards, I said. And shoot the bastards they did with just three head shots*. Now that's what I'm talkin' about! It was probably the plan all along while waiting for an opportunity. The idea that it took seeing one pirate (after 5 days) stick a gun in Capt Phillip's back is Gov't window dressing. They had already shot at Phillips when he jumped overboard days before. * That was 3 head shots at 75 feet, in unison, at a bobbing target from a moving platform in the dark, including 2 who were apparently inside the lifeboat looking out the cockpit windows. Don't mess with Navy Seals!!! And as expected, other pirates threatened retaliation. Did the Navy think they wouldn't? I hope not. The answer to that is to put an armed, trained team (no more than 6/boat required) to protect each ship going through that area. There is armed protection in both air and sea ports, why not the boats. The cost of the present rescue would probably cover protection team costs for all boats in that area for a year. Then, if a small boat comes up looking for trouble (any small boat 300 miles out at see IS looking for trouble), shoot the bastards, sink their boat and move on. An to those who think Obama is a wimp, think again. Great job by all, including the crew of the M. Alabama. Now get going on those teams. |
Blog #128 Posted April 14, 2009 Neut Gingrich has taken issue with the new White House dog, apparently believing that taking a cheap shot at the media coverage (he doesn't see the need for all the fuss) would somehow enhance the status of the Republican Party. It didn't work Neut. |
Blog #129 Posted April 17, 2009 Suzie Welch has just come out with a new book, highly recommended by the media, named 10-10-10. It's all about the consequences of one's decisions in 10 minutes, 10 weeks and 10 months (or whatever set of 10's one wishes to apply). I'm not talking about the consequences in 10 seconds of jumping off a cliff. However, how the hell did we get to the point in this country where (this is the basis of the book) we have to read a book to learn that we should not live beyond our means, that not working hard in school will affect your work ethic and success in the future, that treating your kids like crap will cause them to treat their kids the same way. What am I missing here? |
| Blog #125 Posted March 17, 2009 Bernie: How's your new digs? Hope they'll do for the . . . uh, next 100 years. |
Blog #126 Posted March 24, 2009 The media and our saviors (Politicians), have been grading Obama for 2 months now. No wait, It's actually 63 days. God, how do these people sleep at night after spending their days micro, micro, micro managing the present financial crisis. Example: Obama has "filled" the stimulus package with pork, $7 billion to be exact. Well, you know what? That is 1% of the total!!! Our politicians (Fed, State and local) will piss away many more times that that arguing over where it should go. That is one penny on the dollar. We have more important things to do. Example: We are all frustrated and enraged at the gall of the AIG bigs who gave themselves $230 million in bonuses, especially since we are paying for it. Well, you know what? That is .03% of the total stimulus package. How much will all the bonus falderall in Washington cost us after all is said and done on this gov't caused mess? More than $230 million for sure. |
| Blog #124 Posted March 5, 2009 I've discussed this topic before (see myBlog # 100 at www.georgeswebpage.com), but since it's in the news again, I'll add some more. The system that is the basis for teaching is 250 years old. After all the ideas have been applied, this is still unchanged. So . . . 1) Consider breaking the school year into a trimester or similar where the students put in more time total but have shorter periods between vacations and shorter vacations. And speaking of vacations, they were created so the kids of 250 years ago could work the farm in the summer, particularly helping during the growing season. 2) Consider changing the break point between grade school and high school and extending the high school years to 5 or 6 making it possible for those who are going directly into the work force without college to get more specific skill sets and be better prepared without having to worry about time and cost of college. We have specialists in many fields now. Generalists are few today. 3) Allow students to customize their education toward job skills during a 3-6 year high school period. 4) Consider having actual work in the outside world as part of their education requirements. It is done in some colleges now. 5) Consider having variable course programs. Depending on the required job skills, a student could go for 10 or 12 or more (1st thru high school) years before graduating. There must be a better way to improve student interest, out put and success than a 250 year old system. Finally, get rid of tenure. This very old system was incorporated in towns who compensated low pay with guaranteed work and time off. We need to put the now well paid teachers in a competitive setup based on quality of work not length of service. |
| Addendum to Blog #121 Posted March 3, 2009 I was informed that, in fact, Limbaugh is not the head of the RNC. Technically this is right*. The elected head is Michael Steele. But, Steele just stepped into it (political doo doo) by feeling it necessary to go public and state that he, Steele, was the leader, not Rush. Bad move. That suggests that he is concerned that he may not be the "real" leader. Now even the media is suggesting that Limbaugh is, in fact the "real" leader. How scary is that? Who's really in charge? Do the Republicans really want that fat, loud mouth to . ah . . rush in and represent them? Gawd! I hope not. *I knew that. |
Blog #122 Posted March 3, 2009 At the same time Rush Limbaugh was taking over the RNC, one of the few sensible Republicans left fell on his sword for the Party. Shame. Bobby Jindal looked like an up-and-comer with the right credentials to become a counterbalance to Obama one day but opted to jump on the Limbaugh Manure Wagon and present a post Obama speach response obviouisly scripted for him. Sorry Bobby, you blew it. |
Blog #123 Posted March 3, 2009 From today's paper: "Bush's terror memos released. CIA destroyed 100 interrogation tapes". Seems W and Co., in the name of security and winning the war(s), gave the president broad authority to set aside constitutional rights. "First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the over riding need to wage war successfully" and "The current campaign against terrorism may require even broader exercises of federal power domestically". 92 video tapes (of suspected terrorist interrogations) have also been destroyed. Pretty sad stuff. But, you know what, he wasn't the first. |
| Blog #120 Posted Feb. 20, 2009 So she says: "I feel your pain!" But apparently not the way we feel it. That from Nancy Pelosi who just flew to Italy, the "most valuable US ally in NATO" for a visit with the Italian President. Oh, did I mention that she flew at taxpayer expense (200K just for the plane) in a fancy US Gov't jet (the bathroom was bigger than mine at home); brought 7 other big name Democrats (no Rebublicans) AND her husband along on this important mission; visited museums; was entertained every evening; got a private audience (including her husband, of course - they're Catholic, don't you know) with the Pope and even was given the birth certificates of her grandfather and great grandmother (boy this touches my genealogical heart). You go girl! Way to help with the stimulus. |
Blog #121 Posted March 2, 2009 Well, now that Rush Limbaugh has placed hisself at the head of the RNC and, incredibly, gotten much of the membership to follow him like lemings, he reminds me of those TV evangilists who know all there is to know about what's right and wrong (sure they do), what we should think and believe. You know, like Rev. Wright, Rev. Hazard and others. Drivel! If he is the guy who is expected to bring the Republicans back into power, Gawd help us. Hey Rush! You back on the pain killers again? I can't believe the RNC really thinks this guy represents the conservatives in this country or at least I hope he doesn't. Next thing we will hear is that he is a candidate for 2012. Where is the Rev. Billy Sol Hargas (remember the First Church of the Gooy Death) when we need him? KM3 Addendum 3/2/09 The media is just buzzing about Rush and his new position. Of all the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC and the networks, only one guy seemed to see the truth and that is 68% of the country thinks Obama is doing the right thing. I'm betting that half the Republicans in this country are embarrased by Rush and his ilk. |

Blog #119 Posted Feb. 12, 2009 Well, our illustrious Congress, in an effort to cover their butts for past mistakes has hauled the owner of the peanut processing company into Washington for a dog and pony show to let us know how concerned they are about this problem. They can't arrest; they can't prosecute; they can't judge; they can't hang. My advice: Arrest the guy and any people who were involved with him; prosecute them at the state AND Federal level, then throw him in jail for 10-20 years. Congress: You just go back to fooling with our $800,000,000,000 (looks like a big # huh). |

Blog #116 Posted Feb. 2, 2009 Hey Mike (Phelps): Nice photo of you taking a hit on that $10 - 20 million* pot tube. Jerk! * my estimate of what you will lose in endorsements |
Blog # 117 Posted Feb. 12, 2009 Why is it that all TV stations and advertizers are lock-step their presentations to us? Examples: 1) Most, if not all, women (talking heads) in the news media have hair styles that "poof" out their hair to show their ears and earings. I don't know anyone who does that. 2) All roads, except dirt, are wet in the car and other ads. I even saw a headache med ad showing a woman walking on a wet park sidewalk (smiling, of course). OK, maybe it just rained (the sun was out) but if the sidewalk was soaking wet, why was the guy in the background sitting on a park bench looking so comfortable? Wasn't it wet too? 3) Why is it that when ever the news has segments about manufacturing, they show guys with grinders or welders (or both) shooting sparks all over the place. As an engineer who spent his whole carrer working in manufacturing, including visiting many other manufacturing venues, I can tell you "sparks" are the exception not the rule. 4) Why does the media show video clips (the same clips, I might add) of machines printing money every time they talk about the economy. I'd like to see some shots of the CEO,s stuffing cash in their pockets (reality) or better yet, walking the plank. |
| Blog #112 Posted Jan. 31, 2009 Another note to Rev. Haggard: You still don't get it do you. Only you (and all those other mega-church megalomaniacs) could, in, uh, the same mouthful, talk about what you have done (the lies), admitted to homosexual tendencies and still (which is OK because you admitted it?) make reference to the "immorality" of it. Give me a break here. |
Blog #113 Posted Jan. 31, 2009 Our congress has just shown that they really don't give a crap about us. After Obabma took his admittedly flawed stimulus package to the Republicans (in a for republicans only meeting) they stuffed it up his butt and ALL walked out on the vote instead of fighting out a compromise. Now we are sending a proposal to the senate that is full of problems. Thanks a bunch folks. . . . . Jerks. And this is not just a Republican issue. See also myBlog # 82 at www.georgeswebpage.com. |

| Blog #110 Posted Jan. 29, 2009 Well, the Rev. Haggard has gone and done it again. He was on Oprah yesterday and will be on Larry King Live tonight explaining how he's "seen the light". After years of lying to his flock of 30 MILLION* believers, bashing homosexuals as evil because the bible said so, he has admitted to a homosexual affair and bought meth (but didn't "inhale" - - sound familiar?). He acknowleged that he learned from God that he is a heterosexual with "issues". OK. After fessing up to his church (who kicked him out of the state) and getting forgiveness from his family, he is OK with it now. He made much of this one affair with the male prostitute who outed him. Now we will find out on LKL that this one encounter wasn't just one (just like the pototato chip jingle) and that he had an affair with another man also. Hey Rev! You just learned from Jesus that lying was the thing (shouldn't you have known that all along?), not your "issues". Great. But you are still lying! How many more of these stories will surface before it's all over. I can only imaging how your wife and kids feel after forgiving you privately and on Oprah for cryin' out loud, then finding out there was more. If I was her, I'd see to it that you were living under a bridge. *30,000,000 followers! My God man, how did you do it? That's 10% of the US population. Or is this a lie too? How do they buy into this stuff? By the way, if you haven't figured it out, I'm a Protest-ant. It's people like you who keep the pot boiling with hatred of those who are different. And you say "Love thy Neighbor"? |
Blog #111 Posted Jan. 31, 2009 Finally!!! Someone in the Gov't has done something for her constituents. Democrat, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, afterwatching Ohioans loosing their homes, got fed up and said do not leave you home if you have been forclosed on by the bank/mortgage co. Become a squatter! She pointed out that so much buying/selling of the mortgage has gone on that many companies don't even know where the original paper is. Hire a lawyer and fight the SOB's. You could possibly be able to keep your house and as a minimum it would be many months before you would actually have to leave. Thank you Marcy. |
| Blog #107 Posted Jan. 22, 2009 The fighting in Gaza has stopped for now. Israel is pulling out. Hamas is claming victory and is holding rallies everywhere. Score: 1300 Palastinians dead, tens of thousands injured, $2 billion in damage; Israel lists 13 dead. Certainly meets my criteria for victory. |
Blog #108 Posted Jan. 26, 2009 Have you seen the whitish stripes on the pavement on Rte 84 in the Newtown/Danbury area recently? Ever wonder how they got there or why they were put there? I did . . and I now have the answer. Drum Roll Please . . . . Heading east today near the Rte 7 interchange, traffic slowed for 2 highway trucks. The lead truck had a sign on the back stating it was spraying "liquid ice remover" on the road. A bar across the back of the truck was laying down these evenly spaced "stripes" across the lane. Apparently this chemical helps melt the ice as it hits the road and/or keeps it from forming. So now you know. |
Blog #109 Posted Jan. 29, 2009 Rush Limbaugh (self proclaimed RNC know it all and leader of the free world) has just gotten his piece of the American Pie. He signed on for a 5yr, $38 MILLION contract. And this for a guy who bitches about waste! |
| Blog #104 Posted Dec. 30, 2008 1954: When my brother and I were kids, he had a dog and kept it in a small yard in back of the house. We had a neighbor kid who for reasons unknown to us, just loved to taunt the dog. He did it often and over much of the summer until one day he got too close and the dog bit him. Oh woe . . . what a nasty dog. 2008: Hamas just loves to taunt Israel by shooting rockets into Israel's border towns. They did it often enough and over a long period of time until the Israelis finally fought back. Oh woe . . . what nasty people, those Israelies. Get the picture? Don't taunt the dog! |
Blog #105 Posted Jan. 15, 2009 My Dell computer with XP was bogging down (up to10 minutes to open Internet Explorer) and I ultimately convinced myself that the most practical solution was to move up to Microsoft Vista. What a horrible mistake. If you have XP, up grade it (increased RAM, etc.). Avoid Vista as it will make you nuts! I have had mine for 7 months now and it has been nothing but an over complicated, error ridden, frustrating pain in the ass!!! To add insult to injury, it turns out that most of my XP problem was due to the over zealous effort on the part of Norton 360 and Spyware Dr. Keep that in mind too. Consider McAfee. |
Blog #106 Posted Jan. 18, 2009 Who would have guessed it? Not 2 hours after an agreed upon cease fire, Israel dropped a bomb on Gaza. . . . Oh, did I say that was only after Gaza nut cases shot 19 rockets into Israel after their declared cease fire. Obviously, Hamas isn't really interested in peace. I'm comfortable in the belief that they agreed to a cease fire only so they could catch their breath after the beating they have been getting from Israel. |

| Blog #103 Posted Dec. 29, 2008 As promised, this blog is the result of much research including the web, contact with the Customer Service group of Cabela's and my own observations in the "lower 40". Here is what I found. There appears to be no difference between male and female deer, moose, elk, etc. They all poop pellets. However, there may be a difference in appearance (still pellets) depending on what the particular creature has eaten. They poop often during the day and night. If, like most, they eat woodland brush, twigs and coarse leaves, they will poop pellets. If they eat softer items such as grass, they will drop "packed poop pellets" (say that three times fast). See the attached which I found in my yard today. The [above] photos confirm what I learned from the experts. |

| Blog #101 Posted Dec. 18, 2008 This is the kind of question that wakes us engineers up in the middle of the night. Have you ever wondered about the fact that our common electronic/flashlight batteries come in AAA, AA, C and D sizes? What happened to sizes A and B ? |
Blog #102 Posted Dec. 28, 2008 Item 1: How is it that our government felt it was OK to give $685 billion to banks and mortgage houses with virtually no strings attached and the paltry $15 billion left over from the initial $700 billion was given to the car industry so grudgingly with many strings attached? Item 2: I told a friend (who knows everything) today that Santa must have come to my house. I said I had proof in the form of deer pellets (poop) within five feet of the house. My friend, who professed to be a poop expert, said they (Santa's reindeer) must then be females as the males shat regular poop (like ours). I never heard of such a thing as gender specific poop. Does anyone know the truth? I'll do some research and get back to you in 2009. KM3 |
| Blog #99 Posted Dec. 12, 2008 Seems I was a little hasty in my attack on Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Turns out that he is the fourth IL governor in the last 35 years to go to jail (he will go to jail). Of course, we from CT should talk. We have our own jailbird governor.
I apologize Rod. Besides, we share the same birthday (December 10), not that it means we have some other link. |
Blog #100 Posted Dec. 14, 2008 The United States is slipping behind in its world standing in education. We are now in only 10th place (or worse). I have some suggestions for improvement. 1) Although the "No Child Left Behind" concept is to be lauded, it doesn't work and has shown that the primary effort by the school systems is to get the students to learn how to pass tests. Junk it for something else. The money could be better spent. . 2) It appears to me that our teaching/school model hasn't changed much in the last 200 years. School authorities, state authorities, national authorities, parents and students should get involved and update the system. Example: Kids got vacation 200 hundred years ago so they could help out with planting and harvesting, not have vacation as we understand it today. Possibly longer hours with different teaching models could improve learning rates, reduce homework loads and, therefore, after class teacher effort checking that homework. And, PLEASE, don't dumb down the the programs for the students. They should, with proper assistance and teaching technique, be pushed harder Check out what other countries (the top 5) are doing today. 3) There is nothing wrong with dress codes. Students should wear the same outfits. I'm avoiding the word "uniform" as it connotes plaid skirts. White shirts (tucked in) and blue pants, for example, for both boys and girls would do. Maybe shorts (9" inseams) could be worn in warm weather all purchased through the school system to ensure consistency. This might also provide enough money to cover uniforms for sports. Parents could save money by cutting down on the amount of clothing needed for school. We would eliminate the "wear what Mom says and change to what you want at school" syndrome. This would reduce or eliminate clicks, gang, economic, and other status issues. Virtually all schools that have switched to standardized clothing have reported an improvement is student attitude and behavior . . and school pride. 4) Put some authority back in the class room (although # 3 would help all by itself). Teachers have little they can do with unruly students because of parental repercussions. Teachers are not here to baby sit the kids. Parents: Wise up! 5) Parents: Teachers are not here to be the parents. You have obligations also, like being sure the kids get to school wearing appropriate clothing; having done their homework; are respectful to the teachers and staff; follow the rules; don't abuse other students, etc. Ditch the hoodies and cell phones in class. 6) Have required life skills classes starting in the middle schools where students learn about money, credit, cash flow, earnings (jobs), taxes and how and why they are levied. Cover issues like death statistics among teens (drinking, drugs, driving, etc). I don't mean preach, just inform. Teach them how to apply for a job, what it means to hold it and how it translates into buying food, owning a house, etc. Give them an introduction to spending, saving, investing. Teach them how being individually responsible adds to the whole society. Discuss the transition issues from teen to adult, the emotional and financials issues involved. Yeah, I know that this is the job of the parents, but it isn't happening. 7) We shouldn't be arguing about how much school costs today. Remember, we didn't always have computers or requirements to bus every kid who may have to cross the street to get to school (I walked about a mile to school in the first grade over 60 years ago. We didn't have police in the halls. We didn't have air conditioning. We didn't have philologists in the schools. There are more books required. All this, and more, costs money. We should be reviewing how that money is spent. School was always a struggle for me. I still have bad dreams about it and I'm retired. However, I'll say it again 10th place (or worse) for this country is just unacceptable. For the US to remain a leading world power, we must improve this dismal statistic and soon. It won't happen with everyone working for Burger King and McDonalds. We have turned our backs on so much for the short term gain. it's time to change that. |
| Blog #96 Submitted Dec. 1, 2008 Tis the Season! News of the season: Wal-Mart shoppers trample store employee to death after he kindly opened the door for them to enter for an early shopping spree . . . then got pissed because the store closed for a couple of hours to clean up the mess, including, I assume, the body of the hapless doorman. Rev. Billy Talen (I wonder how long it took to come up with that name) founder of the "First Church of Stop Shopping" (I don't make this stuff folks) was on CNN this morning telling all how he and his choir went to the above Valley Stream, LI Wal-Mart to pray and sing for the victims. He also talked to witnesses (Oh, praise Billy!!) and explained his mission (I think it's all about the money he collects), all the while sitting on the show in a white suite (purity) and a month old bleach job which left a brown line around his forehead (kind of like a dirty halo). Once again now . . . Praise Billy and send him the money! To join his congregation and/or read more about this guy, go to www.revbilly.com <http://www.revbilly.com> |
Blog #97 Posted Dec. 5, 2008 And now, more silliness from Washington. Gov. Rendell said that Gov. Napolitano (being single) would make a good Secretary of Homeland Security because she would have to work 24/7/365. Now the media is working overtime to debate whether the remark was sexist. CNN even had a woman on who complained of "singlism" (categorizing people who are single). Get a life people! What we should is ban the use of "isms" entirely. But wait. I've got one. Media-ism (those who can make an issue out of nothing and then tell the whole world). |
Blog #98 Posted Dec. 9, 2008 Well, well, well. After 8 years of taking abuse for being a Republican and, therefore, presumed to have voted for and supported the "criminals" in the Bush Administration, what do we see on the TV today but a major story that (Democrat) Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has just been arrested for trying to sell Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder, threatening to rescind an $8 million grant to a state hospital if the CEO doesn't cough up $50 thousand in campaign money and much more nasty stuff. And we said Cheney was a crook. I must add that the State's Atty who spoke to the media seemed so confident about the Gov's guilt that he used words like appalling in referencing what was caught on tape over the last few months. So my Democratic friends, it is nice to be able to share something during this Holiday season don't you think? |
| Blog #93 Posted Nov. 2, 2008 Thank GODuh!! Only two days left of this brutal abuse by our next president and the looser. What do they think we are? Morons? I can't wait for Wednesday (11/5). I hope they don't think this is the way to get things done in the next four years. By the way, anyone who really thinks that the next president will cut taxes, help the middle class (by cutting or raising taxes) or any of that other BS must have his head in the sand. What we, as voters, must try to filter out the last TWO YEARS (these guys also get $150K.yr as senators while doing this) of BS and determine is which man will hire the better (note I didn't say best) advisors, listen to them and make sound judgments and decisions based on their input. There are 3 major issues. They are the economy, health care and education. Finally we need someone who presents well to all Americans and world powers. Did I make my choice clear? KM3 |
Blog #94 Posted Nov. 20, 2008 Note to the Media: Hello. . . . The elections are over. Why do you still insist on snapping at Sarah's heels. You never heard of her outside of Alaska, but fawned over her when first picked as McCain's running mate then spent 2 months trying to disembowel her. Note to the Media: She didn't win. I think we have all heard enough. There are more important things going on. Did you really think she was that bad (almost half the voters disagree with you). I think her good looks put you off. Do you really think she had time to run amok in the clothing stores? Do you really think the men running with/against her just got up in the AM and wore what they wanted? Do you really think they didn't have beauticians working them over before each speech? Give it up for cryin' out loud. |
Blog #95 Posted Nov. 20, 2008 Item 2 |
| Blog #89 Posted Sept. 29, 2008 CNN had a segment on today showing three conservative church preachers clearly urging their congregation not to vote for Barack Hussein* Obama. . . a clear violation of the US tax law which gives tax free status to houses of worship so they won't get involved in politics. That, I believe is a significant part of the "separation of church and state" laws. The solution (and I'll enjoy it) is to TAX the jerks. They knew they were breaking the law and proceeded anyway with media coverage. Good luck fellows. Check with God on the details, OK. *some conservative Christians still believe he is a Muslim |
Blog #90 Posted Sept. 30, 2008Ok! Now the economic plan as proposed has been defeated. We are in a crisis! All government employees House or Senate should be told to stay on the job until a solution is reached. |
Blog #91 Posted Sept. 30, 2008 Hey! I'm talking to you (government)!. Didn't you see my last blog? NO TIME OFF!!! |
Blog #92 Posted Sept. 30, 2008 Way to go Nancy (Pelosi). You couldn't hold your snotty tongue until after the vote on the $700B, could you? Everything you said is true, but your timing was just plain dumb and vindictive. If we truly are in such a crisis, why in God's name (didn't mean to bring religion into it) couldn't you hold that kind of rhetoric until after the vote? I'm sick of you all! You act like children! Go talk to Chicken Little. I just might vote for Ralph Nader. KM3 |
| Blog #85 Posted August 19, 2008 Some religious "cultists" from Maryland have run afoul of the law for starving a toddler who refused to say "Amen". Question: Is he able to say "Amen" yet? Then again, maybe he just wanted to say a simpler version of the Lord's Prayer. That would be OK, wouldn't it? KM3 |
Blog #86 Posted Sept. 15, 2008 I was watching CNN today and learned how about 35 Coast Guard helicopters averaged about 35 rescues each in the Galveston area. Isn't it nice to know that our tax dollars are hard at work saving people too STOOOPID to heed the weathermen's warning of "certain death" if they stayed put??? |
Blog #87 Posted Sept. 22, 2008 So here's what I see in the race for president. If the Republican's get in they will try to be maverick's and kick ass as promised. The Democratic Congress will do every thing it can (no matter what their campaign promises) to thwart them. If the Democrats get in they will get as much done as they have since the November elections (remember them?) and blame any failure on the Republicans. |
Blog #88 Posted Sept. 22, 2008 Damn it! God damn it! I hope those SOB's responsible for the housing, banking and stock market melt-downs end up hanging by their "you know what's" one day (hopefully before my grandchildren are thru paying for their greed). And while I'm at it, let's throw in some lawmakers too! Damn them all! |
| Blog #82 Posted July 18, 2008 There are two men in a boat. They hate each other. The boat is leaking & will soon sink. Because of the animosity between them, neither will do anything to empty out the water or stop the leak. One is a Democrat. The other is a Republican. We are the boat. Got the picture? Well, well, well. A "Rev" is back in the news. Jesse is now accused of calling Obama a ni----. Is it OK for him to use the "N" word, but not us? |
Blog #83 Posted August 4, 2008 The 110th Congress (controlled by Democrats who were going to change things within the first 100 days) has enacted less legislation that any within the last decade. They passed 260 laws (sounds like a lot) 74 of which were to rename post offices. They also passed numerous resolutions, one to recognize June 30 as National Corvette Day. Our taxes at work. Damn it! You should all be ashamed!! And how much do we, the tax payers, pay you??? Shame! Shame! KM3 |
Blog #84 Posted August 5, 2008 I've been listening to the political jabbering for months now and continually hear both Democrats and Republicans refer to "working Americans" . . . their constituents, I guess. Then, it follows that our "representatives" are NOT working Americans. Since they are Americans, it can mean only one thing. But why then do they refer to their time away from Washington as a vacation? (I'm referring to the Republicans who came back early from 5 weeks of vacation to vote on the energy bill . . . actually to dis the Democrats for not coming back). When we were forced to get into the computer age with the new voting machines, they all should have been set up to include one "lever" that reads "None of the Above". KM3 |
Blog #79 Posted July 5, 2008
![]() I think I'm beginning to learn what to look for when considering who to vote for in November. By the way, even more confusing than the above, Obama is courting the religious right (he's a Christian, you know) and McCain seems to be drifting to the left by admitting he goes to church (that makes him a Christian too) only when he is in his home town and maybe not regularly. What's a voter to do? KM3 |
Blog #80 Posted July 15, 2008 Some advice for Obama: Barak, the next time some guy whose name starts with "Rev" comes up to you with something to say - - - turn - - - and - - - RUN! Observation: A small brewery (Shasta Brewing Co) in an even smaller town in CA (Weed) has been using a bottle cap for 20 years that says "Try Legal Weed". Our Gov't (alcohol, tobacco & tax guys) think it's not Ok to say that even though the town is named, not after the plant, but the founder, Abner Weed. The Feds say the label must be truthful, accurate and not misleading and that it is unacceptable. This is our tax money at work. I feel much safer now |

| Blog #77 Posted June 27, 2008 The Gov't really thinks giving us (and the other tax payers) $1200 is going to solve all our fiscal problems. I just got a letter telling me I was going to get my check in 2 days which, of course, I didn't. How much did it cost me for that misinformation? I was just going to pay a bill, but since they want me to spend it, I guess I'll use it toward our trip to Hawaii (which is just paying a bill). |
| Blog #74 Posted May 30, 2008 What is with The United Church of Christ in Chicago? First we have the Rev. Wrong (Wright) and now the very same church brings in a Catholic priest, Father Flogger (Pfleggler), and he goes off the wall just like Wright. Personally, I'm embarrassed for Obama. I know the UCC has opened their hands, heart and house to many kinds, but where do they get these guys. They're both nut jobs. If you don't like Hillary, I can see the humor in the sermon, but Geese, these guys are supposed to represent the moral high ground. All I saw was a skit from Laugh In. Worse, the "audience" was obviously enjoying the "dissing goin' down". I'm curious about how they reacted to the "God Damn America statement"? Now I understand why we try to separate church and state. I hope the rest of America can see past these jerks. KM3 |
Blog #75 Posted June 11, 2008 All the news that's fit to print: 1) Man finds pipe bomb stuffed up plucked chicken's butt. This is true. 2) Why did we allow 17 months (that's 1.4 YEARS!!!) to pick a Democratic presidential nominee but will allow only 5 months to pick a president? As you all know, the 17 months could have been condensed to one if we separated the important stuff from the BS. Then again, why would we allow those Washington types to spend almost two years trying to get elected into a four job? Maybe we are the bozos. 3) 26% of New Yorkers (NYC) have the genital herpes virus. True. 4) Seven Danbury cops were injured, two seriously, while employing "police brutality tactics" on a number of mall carnival goers who were eventually arrested on charges of drunkenness, drug possession, weapons possession, interfering with an officer, attacking an officer, etc. Go Officers!!!! This is true too. Note how nicely item 2 fits in with the other three. KM3 |
Blog #76 Posted June 12, 2008 Now the media is making an issue of just how black Obama is or whether he is not really black, but multiracial (which he actually is). However, in this country, right or wrong, we have called anyone with black blood, black. So have the "blacks". In the days of slavery in the South, anyone with 1/2 black blood was a mulatto (as Obama is); a quadroon had 1/4 black blood and an octoroon had 1/8 black blood. There is even a quintroon. These terms were used in the "Jim Crow Laws" in the segregated South. I suspect, however that many blacks in the US today have some white blood. But what does it matter if Obama and other "blacks" are pure black of not? I say that I'm Scottish, but I also have a lot of English and Dutch and even some American Indian (Chief Wyandanch of Long Island) blood. So what am I?? Don't answer that. KM3 |
| Blog #70 Posted May 22, 2008 Don Johnson created the unshaved look (I call it the Sunday Morning Look) about 20-25 years ago and it's still here. Go figure. I can't. It makes me wonder if the guy hasn't brushed his teeth either. Maybe the girls like it. |
Blog #71 Posted May 22, 2008 It's interesting how political correctness impacts our use of words that are still in the dictionary (so I ass-u-me they are useable). First we couldn't use the "F" word (gutter talk). Then we couldn't use the "N" word (offensive to certain minorities). I can't use an "S" word (stupid) in front of my grandkids. My God, what the "F" would happen if they used it? Now I see that another "S" word is non-politicus-correctus. Obama called a news woman who interrupted him Sweetie. Boy! How offensive is that??? |
Blog #72 Posted May 27, 2008 Here we go again with the superstitions. Now it's the numeral "8". In China, the Olympics will be started on 8/8/08 to bring good luck. Many believe 8's do bring good luck, but when you consider all the combinations to get to 8, (1 + 7 = 8, 4 + 4 = 8, etc) you start to realize that almost any significant event can have 8's in it's time or date or number of occurrences, etc). So with endless possibilities of 8's, who are we kidding? The earthquake happened on 5/13/08 or (8-3/ 8+5/08). How lucky was that? I can't believe CNN did a 5 minute segment (maybe it was 8 minutes) on it. KM3 |
Blog #73 Posted May 29, 2008 What the "H" (can't say Hell either) is this country coming to??? Rachael Rae wore a black and white scarf with paisleys on it in a Dunkin Donuts commercial and took crap from the (other) blogs for wearing what appears to be a Palestinian terrorist scarf. DD pulled the commercial so as not to offend. It does look a little like said scarf, but give me a break. . . haven't we got better things to do. Let's outlaw the damned scarf, deport anyone who wears one (including Rachael). Yeah, right! Boycott DD??? Come on already. It's frightening to think such a small thing is so important to so many. I hope most Americans are better than that. KM3 |
Blogs #67 & #68 Posted April 25, 2008 My wife asked me this question the other day, and I didn't have an answer (added comments are mine). "If we now have a conflict between growing corn for food or for fuel for our cars (where's the conflict), how come we are paying farmers NOT to grow corn??? |
Blog #68 Posted May 21, 2008 For Christ sake, now the US Gov't is discriminating against the blind because they can't read paper money denominations. If the gov't can use colored ink, special paper, special threads and s/n's, they should be able to put brail or some other identifier in one corner. By the way, this is the first time that I've heard the US Gov't rule against itself. It gives me goose pimples. KM3 |
Blog #69 Posted May 21, 2008 Every once in a while I have to go to the dark side like so many famous people do. You know, the "God will get you for that" type statements. Here's mine: God must be calling in his chit for Chappaquiddick. |
| Blog #65 Posted April 17, 2008 I just finished mailing tax checks totaling over $8000 to the Federal and state gov'ts outside of the quarterlies I've already paid. I have an idea where it's going (besides Iraq). Don't wish you could have a high paying job (like all those running for "W's" job) where you can travel about the country for a year and a half blowing smoke up constituents butts until you are hoarse, having the trip paid for by others and still getting your full salary for a job you haven't performed during that time. At least we can rest assured that our representatives "have our back" as they say or is that "have our butts"? KM3 |
Blog #66 Posted April 18, 2008 I'd like to thank the news media for doing all they can to scare the pants off the American public by continually beating us up about the economy. I'll bet that, even given the problems we do have, we wouldn't be in the shape we are in if the media hadn't worked so diligently to scare us all so much. Thanks guys! KM3 |
Blog #67 Posted April 18, 2008 The state of CT and the town of New Fairfield have, in their infinite wisdom (read political conservatism) put up $10,000 to do a "Risk Assessment" at Squantz Pond to try to find out why there were three drownings there last year. Duh! Save your money! I have the answers right here! 1) "Those People" all came from out of state (NYC). 2) "Those People" don't give a damn about and don't follow local rules (note the parking, littering and alcohol use problems plus not swimming in designated areas). Did God determine that they don't have to follow the rules once they leave NYC? 3) Reduce the number of bodies (pun) allowed to enter in any day, not vehicles which they stuff to over flowing. 4) Kick them out as soon as they break the rules. 5) Remind them that they are visitors here. After digging up the "Ortiz" jersey buried by a Red Socks Fan in the newly built (in process? . . who cares) stadium , The Yankees owner is considering suing for $50,000* damages??? Idiots!! I can't believe all this BS. Of course, it's funnier than the war in Iraq. *Presumably the 50K includes interviews to ID the "perp", searching and the 15 min with the jack hammer. Good thing he didn't do the cost estimates for the stadium itself. This is just to get the fans to buy tickets, right? KM3 |

| Blog #59 Posted March 11, 2008 Once again, a top politician thinks he is above/smarter than the law. How can a man, who spent his career fighting crime, be so stupid as to get involved with money and human trafficking (federal offenses) over state lines? It's the effects of power folks. You should go to jail, but you probably won't because you said "I'm sorry" to your wife, family and constituents in public and will (oh yes, you will) give up your fancy job to save yourself. Anyone else would end up in the slammer. But look how much good you have done in the past. Right. Elliott: You idiot! What were you thinking? What are your wife and family thinking? And we don't care what Obama and Clinton will say because it won't be what they were thinking which is: "Elliott, you idiot! What were you thinking?" Note that I didn't mention McCain. We know what he is thinking. It's "Elliott, you idiot! I love you man." And finally, is it just a coincidence that Elliott and idiot look and sound so similar? KM3 |

| Blog #55 Posted Feb. 20, 2008 Once again the media is looking to scare the pants off of us. This time we have a beef scare. Apparently a company out west was using sick cows when processing the meat (i.e. having to lift them with a fork lift). Sounds disgusting (just what Johnny Media wants us to think). Now stores are pulling the brand off the shelves. Mommies have been advised to empty out the fridge. Oh my Goduh! What next? Well guess what? This information is 2 years old. The really disgusting thing is that we ALREADY ATE THAT MEAT!!! |
Blog #56 Posted Feb. 25, 2008 The Christian Right is disgusted by gays to the point that some churches have publicly "cast them out" of the church, quoting the Bible as reason to do so. Question: Who produced these "discussing" aberrants anyway??? Answer: Since gays are children of heterosexuals ("one man and one woman" in today's vernacular) I think I know exactly who produced them and then cast them out . . . a very un-Christian like thing to do, don't you think? |
Blog #57 Posted Feb. 26, 2008 Changin' Times In 2002, CNN ran a poll (still on cnn.com) that says more Americans believe there is not enough religion in the world (the result of 9/11). Huh??? CNN showed a poll on TV this morning (2008) that showed that 54% of Americans have "quit" religion all together. Huh??? Yesterday in a CNN interview, a protestant minister finally put it out there. He said that religion has been the root cause of most of our wars and main stream religions have lost there way (my words). Finally, something I can "believe" in. |
Blog #58 Posted Feb. 26 2008 Stupid is as stupid does: So a fishing boat sells close encounters with sharks off the Florida coast. It's a simple idea. For those who don't want to see "wildlife" through a steel cage, these brilliant people (that would be the charter boat owner and customer) go outside the US limit (it's illegal in the US) put the diver in a wet suit, throw him and chum into the water and wait for the sharks. Guess what? It works! The diver died from a shark attack. How could anyone be so stupid that he thought it was OK to swim with sharks on a feeding frenzy? This is one time the Gov't was right. Someone should write to the Darwin Awards folks. |
| Blog #52 Posted Jan. 24, 2008 I know this was tried (for different reasons) about 160 years ago, but maybe the US is too big to manage anymore (or at least we can't find anyone qualified to manage it) and should be broken up into 4 smaller "countries" like we did with Ma Bell years ago (yeah, I know, she sneaked back together). We could have the liberal North East America; red necked, Baptist South America, overly conservative North West America and Cowboy Landt. Of course, we would also have to figure out what to do with California. Sell it back to Mexico and let all the illegals move there? |
Blog #53 Posted Jan. 27, 2008 Super Tuesday??? Don't we take anything seriously?? This isn't a damned football game (then again, maybe it is). We are supposed to be selecting the most influential person in the world to be our president at a time when we certainly need a new one and all we get racial BS; media titillation; candidates changing format each week to fit what they think we want to hear; Super Tuesday??? Give me a break! By the way, even though the media presents the SC show like Hilary should go home and all is lost, Hilary actually has 230 delegates, Obama 152 and Edwards 61 so far of a required to win 2025. Lets see what . . . uh . . Super Tuesday brings (that's Feb 5, folks). |
Blog #54 Posted Jan. 29, 2008 Angelo Mozilo (CEO) runs CountryWide mortgages into the ground, adds a trigger point for global financial markets to squirm and crash but is given kudos for returning $37.5 million. He still leaves a bankrupt company and thousands of people on the streets but pockets $40 million for himself. When are we going to get wise and spank these morons for their lack of performance and have all benefits, bonuses and kickbacks null and void when the company goes down the tubes? |
| Blog #49 Posted Jan. 14, 2008 Having just watched the news media (once again) get breathless over who said what (Clinton and Obama) about race, I'm sick, sick, sick and tired (once again) that is the best they (Clinton, Obama and the media) can do to help me decide who to vote for. For cryin' out loud, if anyone is a supporter of the blacks in this country, it's the Clintons. Obama, you blew it. And, no, you are not JFK or MLK. |
Blog #50 Posted Jan. 14, 2008 So, I see by an ad on TV that Toyota has increased the size of their already too large Sequoia. And on "Extreme Makeover" (houses, ladies, not women) a deserving family was given a huge Ford SUV (not yet released to the public). The Government has (finally) decreed that we will have 35 mpg cars in the not too distant future. What am I missing here? |
Blog #51 Posted Jan. 16, 2008 Addendum(b): Well, well, well: The one man who makes my guts knot up the most Al "the Mullet" Sharpton, has finally said something intelligent when he told Clinton and Obama that their recent "race war" was all sizzle and no meat. He wants to know what each WILL do for blacks and the poor instead of taking cheap shots at each other. Good on you, Al. Also, both have made a peace and apologized (sort of) to each other with statements like "In the end we all are Democrats with the same goals". I will suggest that Howard Dean called them both and read the Riot Act pointing out that the Democrats want some one (any one?) of their own in office rather than a Republican (he has traveled over 500,000 miles to every state setting up Democratic offices) and that their bickering isn't helping. Go Howard! |
| Blog # 46 Posted Dec. 23, 2007 One of today's local paper headlines shouts "Home sellers increasingly turn to saint for help". . . that's help selling their houses. The article goes on to say that St Joseph is believed by many to be the "unofficial" saint of real estate. You're kidding me, right? One religious store in Southington actually sells them (with detailed instructions and a prayer) and a realtor gives them out with his "home seller kit", what ever that is. You're kidding me, right? Now hear this! No kind of nutty superstition will sell your home. And if it sells, don't think is was a saint. Proper preparation (cleaning, painting presentation as required) though will do much toward the sale. Forget the dumb statue and put your money into some paint, soap and flowers for the front hall. The scary thing is that this is happening right here in CT, one of the best "edumacated" states in the country. Get real(estate)! |

| Blog #43 Posted Nov. 2, 2007 So, along comes a man (Mukasey) who seems to be a breath of fresh air in Washington . . . even the Democrats were praising him after what they did to the Hispanic guy. Now, because they (the Dems) don't like his response to the waterboarding question (it's a sport, right?), they don't want him. The fact is they just want to make Bush look foolish again. HEY JERKS! He looks foolish enough. Don't destroy the government just to score points for your side. Mukasey is a good choice at a time when we have few good choices (check out who's running for president). ALL of you in Washington have, apparently, forgotten that you are supposed to represent us, not yourselves. |
Blog #44 Posted Nov. 21, 2007 When will we reach the point where it will make no sense to try to go thru life at all. The latest scare is Christmas trees (along with lead in toys, chemicals in baby bottles, mold abounding everywhere, tainted food, etc, etc). The news is that live trees have or can have mold on them, thus affecting my health. "Not to worry" I said to myself. I now use an artificial tree. Have for about 5 years. Not to worry??? Oh no, I store it in the barn where it can contract the dreaded mold and other disgusting stuff (the mice haven't found it yet (or, knowing its importance, just leave it alone). What's a good Christian to do??? To the chasers of all health issues, I say a loud "Bah Humbug!" Go away and just let me enjoy my dirty little life will you? I've made it thru 66 years without you and your constant haranguing about all the problems in the world. And to those of you who wonder who I am, I've left you 2 clues. My normal Holiday wish is appropriately replaced with "Read the health warnings on the turkey and cranberry labels". I do recall that a health scare came out on cranberries about 40 years ago. |
Blog #45 Posted Dec. 2, 2007 If you ever wondered what extreme religion is, look no farther that the story about the British teacher in Sudan who the Muslims want to kill because she , innocently enough, allowed her 7 yr old students (who should have known better) to name a stuffed toy Mohammed. She was initially facing 40 years and/or 40 lashes before the Brits stepped in. The populace wants to burn or shoot her. Extreme religionists* (my word) of every faith are beyond understanding . . . except, of course, by the US Gov't. Doesn't our Gov't send money to these guys because they are so poor??? They are nut cases, that's what they are. Now, my life is probably on the line for writing this. Oh well, some one has to say it. *Almost always poor, uneducated, unemployed, insecure (why else would they force their women to cover up in public?) I can't believe this is what Mohammed had in mind! |
| Blog #37-Posted September 17, 2007 Could my ears have deceived me? Could it be true? I want to believe it, but..... Boy, what a career killer that statement is. YOU GO JOHN!!! |

| Blog # 30 Posted July 23, 2007 Boy, it's hard being so right some times. The front page story of today's (7/23) News Times is about ANOTHER swimming death at Squantz Pond. Again, another man broke the rules and was swimming outside the designated area. No one was available to monitor this area because they were at "The Rocks" where the last death occurred . . keeping the stupidos out. And this after repeated warnings, and printed warnings in English AND Spanish. Boy these people are like lemmings. The gene pool theory is alive and well. And what a shame. Am I to presume you scurried on down there to protect the interests if the white kid? Or what?? Huh Al? |
Blog #32 Posted Aug. 10, 2007 Once again someone is sure he's seen a likeness of Jesus in a mundane inanimate object. Apparently a grease spot on the floor of his garage looks just like "the Man" himself. Of course, no one knows what he looks like. In fact, the only "likenesses" of Jesus were created by Englishmen with long thin noses. Thus he is portrayed as English. Jesus was actually middle eastern. But, the bigger issue is that some one has already bid $1525 on eBay for the hunk of garage floor with this "image". What am I missing here? |
| Blog #27 Posted July 16, 2007 The richest sex club in the world has, once again, proven its "worth" by paying $1,300,000 (total $660M) for sex with each of 500 people. The better hookers can be had for $1000 - $5000 a night. I can't afford either. However, these guys are even shutting down many of their bordellos (read churches) to pay for their trysts. What a great country we live in. We even look at these people as above the law just because they are God's representatives. If I got caught with a $50 hag in the back of my car in the big Y parking lot, I'd be in the slammer. Oh, what God and $$$$ can do. |
Blog #28 Posted July 20, 2007 I am just about finished reading James A. Michener's fascinating novel "Texas". In typical Michener fashion, the book starts in early times and goes to the present. In this case that would be 1985 when the book was published. I'd like to quote a section which is listed as fictional in the front or the book. The time period was the early 80's and the issue surrounded illegal immigrants coming over the Texas border into the US. "Simpson-Mazzoli (Bill) was an effort by a Republican senator and a Democratic representative to stanch the estimated ten million illegal immigrants who had drifted north and who existed in a kind of judicial no man's land. The bill offered three solutions: halt further illegal entry, grant generous amnesty to those well-intentioned and well-behaved Mexicans already here, and penalize American employers who hired illegals." And we taxpayers just paid our representatives MILLIONS to come up with a plan (written by a novelist 22 years no less) ago when just one researcher form "W's" home state could have found this paragraph in a couple of days. If Michener was still alive, and I was his lawyer, I'd sue the gov't for plagiarism. Interestingly, this section also delved into the issues of the law requiring the US to teach people in their own language, including Chinese which the law was based on and problems associated with a multy language society. Boy, nothing has changed in 22 years, has it. |
Blog #29 Posted July 20, 2007 Well, I sat on the edge of my fold-up cot last night to see what was going to happen during the all night Senate debate on the Iraq issue. Cots were brought in so that anyone could snooze if required to make it through and come to a resolution by 11:00 AM today. The senators stayed up (sort of), the media showing only one used cot. Turns out those others who couldn't hack it went home for nite-nite. This morning, Senator Boxer who stayed up (admitting to only a 4 hr nap) seemed to want the most credit for just staying up (she must have mentioned it 5 times in her morning interview. While our soldiers go on regular overnight raids (while being shot at), our illustrious senators think one night out of bed (sort of) just before going on summer break should suffice. The Republicans tacked a bunch of "help out the troops stuff" to the bill to make the Democrats look bad for not signing it while the Democrats are trying to pass a bill that will only wreak more havoc in the middle east than has already been started by "W" already. Even the news media has commented that pulling out now would be disastrous for the region and the world. Who are they kidding. Once again I have learned that it's all about them (Republicans v. Democrats) not us ("we the people"). |
| Blog #22 Posted June 29, 2007 The media is all abuzz this morning over Paris (note that you know who I'm talking about even without a last name) being let out of jail (who cares); immediately gets onto the Larry King Show (probably planned before she went) (who cares); was only following her lawyer's instructions on when to start driving again (who cares); is contrite (who cares); was afraid some big bad wo-man was going to come and get her (or was that get her and come) (who cares); now she is going to write a book (who cares); is there a movie in her future (who cares). She doesn't know why she is followed everywhere she goes (Duh). I can't believe so much time and footage is spent on her. It galls me to think she makes money even as a criminal behind bars. It's all over and, still, she didn't spend 45 days in the slammer anyway. Blog #24 Posted July 19, 2007 RE: my Blog # 23: I can't believe that only three days after I wrote myBlog # 23, Another idiot has probably killed himself at Squantz Pond. Now the local and State officials are arguing (read spending taxpayers money) over who is at fault. Hey Officials, quit messing with the gene pool. There must be a reason that these guys come up from Bridgeport and NY, get all liquored up, break the rules and dive/swim in non-designated areas to kill themselves. Apparently the latest "victim" couldn't even swim. Remember the story of the lemmings. |
Blog #25 Posted July 19, 2007 myBlog # 25: Re: Nichole Ritchey. See myBlog # 22 (who cares). |
Blog #26 Posted July 19, 2007 Well, well, well. Once again, God forgives a politician for his sexual transgressions. David Vitter, that conservative, "family values" (of course) senator got caught with his . . uh . . pants down (again?). It repeatedly amazes me (you'd think I'd know better by now) how God and spouses forgive these guys. And. how did this guy know God forgave him? Maybe he talked to Pat Robertson (see myBlog # 11). Maybe God is a politician |
| Blog #20 Posted June 13, 2007 Al Sharpton has got to be one of the biggest jerks around and if I read that he got hit by a semi, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. When he got involved with the "Paris Hilton Circus", I almost puked. But, you know what? He was right. If it was a black guy he would have been put in the slammer for 45 days . . period. Paris Hilton, who got nailed for driving drunk then violated her probation by driving some more, is the quintessential spoiled little rich kid. I can't stand her either. In this case, though, I'll take Al. And the good news is that she has found religion and will be changing her ways, helping others, etc. as soon as she gets out. Yeah, right. What a bunch of crap. The real Hilton came through loud and clear when she, after being sentenced (again) to the full 45, shouted . . . . MOM!!!. I just love this s---! This is the new version of Smackdown! KM3 |
Blog # 21 Posted June 18, 2007 The case of the $54 million law suit for a lost pair of pants shows how things have changed in the last 50 years (yes, I can look back that far). The offensive part is that if da judge was not a judge and maybe not black, he would never have even gotten to court. He should and must lose this case and then should be required to pay all court and defense costs (est at over 70K). He is obviously a hateful JERK. I appreciate that he has the "right" but, come on folks, lets get real. KM3 |
| Blog #17 Posted May 12, 2007 Now that the V-Teck massacre has taken the Imus story off the air and we don't have to listen to those two black criminals anymore, I have marveled at how after one of thousands of inappropriate remarks on his show, Don got the axe and the media ran for cover. Now it comes out that CBS and MSN had contracted with Imus to specifically be "bad" on his show. It was revealed this morning on CNN that his contract was quite clear and also that he couldn't be fired without warning and that he may be owed all of his 40 million for a 5 year contract that he just renewed. It's amazing how the world turns. Imus makes one of thousands of remarks, Jessie and that jerk (I could think of worse descriptions) Al Sharpton, get all the media attention, the media goes underground and Imus pays the price. It's also interesting that he was more generous (including his support for cycle cell work, a uniquely black problem) than the Rev's, who don't actually DO anything, and the media that hired him to do just what he did. I liked his show and hope he gets the 40 mil. |

| Blog #15 posted 3/11/07 Well, here we go again. Newt was hammering on Clinton while he was boffing another woman (not his wife). Now he has found God and has admitted his sins so that he can be acceptable to the religious right vote. Are these "nouveau" Christians so shallow and so stupid to swallow this stuff? (And I'll respect you in the morning!) Long live the right reverend Haggard! (but don't bend over near him) Put your hand on the radio and say Halleluiah! I think it's time to find a new planet. |
Blog #16 posted 3/11/07 I just read the fooling blurb from the News Times, 3/10/ 07. The Democrats, in trying to make a point about the $100 billion "W" wants to add to the existing cost of the Iraq War (I think it is that they don't want to spend it), have tacked their own billions onto the War bill for farms, flu preparedness, New Orleans levees, home heating and other causes (just to make a point, don't you know). Obviously, they missed myBlog # 1 and they DIDN'T GET THE MESSAGE ABOUT THE NOVEMBER VOTE. What the hell is wrong with these jerks? It's bad enough that we are losing soldiers every day, but it's happening while these assholes in Washington are playing games with each other. It's a damn good thing that Business and Industry don't work that way. We wouldn't have a country. Now that the "First Hundred Days" are over I guess it's back to business as usual. And then they will retire at full pay and benefits for all their hard work. They make me sick! |
Blog # 12 Since I've first bought the bike shop in 1983, The horsy set has had a pissy attitude about mountain bikers using THEIR state forests to bike on and how we wreck trails and scare the poor DUMB* horses. Now that the horses shoe is on the other foot and the state of CT wants to restrict horse access in THEIR state forests, boy has the howling begun. How does it feel to be picked on when you are just doing what is your right?. Well, suck it up. I have my own problems with you myself. Your animals also damage the trail. They piss and shit all over it while leaving big puddles in the mud. And what do we do, make chain ring marks on fallen trees? OOOOH. You insist that we stop what we are doing so you can proceed by with your snooty noses held high. Actually, we politely stop and allow you to pass so your DUMB* assed animals won't panic and take off into the woods on a path you hadn't planned on. Get a life and realize the earth was not created for you and your DUMB* horses. *Yes, I know, there are those who think they are smart. That's why we let dogs drive herds of them. That's why they think people on bicycles and motorcycles are some kind of living thing. That's why they are happy going around and around and around and around in circles connected to an exercise wheel. At least we watch TV when we get on a treadmill. |
Blog # 13: Can you believe it. The Rev. Hazzard, was made straight in just 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS! Say "Hallelujah and Amen!" After playing with boys for a period of time and covering it up (maybe he was just trying to prove to himself that sex with boys is as bad as God told him is was), his church guardians just sent him off to "straight" school and after only three weeks, say "Hallelujah and Amen" again, he is back on track, straight as an arrow so to speak. He must be good as they were expecting "Restoration" might take 5 years! Of course, he and his poor wife are going to hibernate for an unspecified # of years with the church looking on to make it right. I can't imagine what his wife must think each time he walks into the house. Of course, I can't understand why anyone would get involved with a zealot like him in the first place. Worse, I can't fathom how the whole congregation is going to be convinced to buy into this bullshit, which they most likely will. I certainly won't! See also myBlog # 1 on this subject. Godduh, what am I missing here? |

We look at the Sunni and Shia as nutty, killing each other over interpretations of who is the rightful descendant of Mohammed (Muhammad? . . .whomever). Now the Christians are arguing (again) about the Gnostic Gospel and which is the true interpretation of the bible, which , among several issues, includes the debate about who, exactly, Jesus appointed to follow up with his plan (what plan?) and who would be in charge after his death. It is suggested it was Peter so he would create the line of (Catholic?) bishops. Sound familiar?. Right! Jesus had it all figured out and knew exactly how things would be in 2000 years. It's bad enough that we thinks he looked English. Now we are on the second iteration of "Exclude me and I'll sue!". First we had to listen to a rabbi in Seattle whine about not having a menorah in the airport along with Christmas trees. Solution? Take it all down . . which they did for 2 days. Now a Christian is suing his small town because a menorah was in the town square along side a Christmas tree which he says is not a Christian symbol. Pagan, I think he said. He wants a creshe. The town fathers also took it all down and now everyone thinks everyone in town is nuts. I say "Right on!". See myBlog # 7. Let the S & S kill each other. We only want their oil anyway. The Gnostic Gospel leaves as much room for belief/interpretation as the bible and I don't care which or if any religious decorations are on the town green at this stage. I'll keep my religious ideas within my four walls, except for myblog, of course. |
The Dumb Blonde Awards were held last night. (I don't know why they hold it on Christmas . . .Jesus wasn't blonde) and the winner is . . . Katie Rees: Here she has the world by the balls (why else would we have the Miss Universe Pageant) and she panders to the cheaper side of all men. Or was it just the drugs and/or alcohol. But, she apparently has been saved by the First Runner Up, The Donald, who is also vying for the Bozo of the Year Award to be held at another time. He should make it too. The Third Runner Up is so only because she is not blonde (of course Katie probably isn't either . . more photos in the internet might have proven me right). She is Rosie O'Donnell guided by her own "moral compass". She does do a mean "The Donald" though. |
So Pat Robertson says God talked to him. Most people would say they talked to God. The only ones I've heard about who say God talked to THEM have been charged with things like drowning all their kids by running the family car into the lake. What's his point?(see rhetorical below) I'm sure he was successful in scaring his own millions of Americans into their 1950's bomb shelters. |

I was watching CNN this morning and the subject was the just about to be issued report on what to do about Iraq. I learned 2 things. First, everyone in the gov't must be stupid except those in the study group (why else would we be waiting with baited breath . . especially the news media) and second, it's really about the 2008 elections isn't it. Our representatives really don't give a crap about Iraq or our military dying over there. After they all agreed that we are "losing" the war, Gates got hoof-in-mouth disease and had to back up on his answer to John McCain (front runner? for the Republicans*) when he corrected himself to clarify that it wasn't the troops who were losing the war. . . and he doesn't even have the post yet. * See myBlog # 5 |
Recently a young couple put up a Christmas wreath on the side of their building. It was in the shape of a peace sign (as in "Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men") This very seasonal gesture was challenged by another resident in the condominium saying it was a political statement against the war in Iraq and, therefore, not allowed. The President of the condo assn board went one step further stating that is was a broken cross and was, in fact, dissing Jesus. They tried to fine the couple $25/day if it stayed up. Both sides hired lawyers. The court as I recall, in a Christmas mood, threw the case out and every one went home. Then the whole condo board quit over it. And this from good Christians. What ever happened to tolerance? |
Paul Barns, the minister who founded the Grace Gospel Church in Colorado, just quit as it's leader after admitting he had sex with a man. What's "up" with these guys? Maybe we should just let them start the church or become priests, then throw them in jail and save all the angst. W "got the message" (from the Iraq study group) but is awaiting more favorable reports. The Congress adjourned early to avoid certain votes that will be easier to fight for or against in January and? maintain their stellar work record. Again, this is NOT your barnyard!!. I hope Nancy Pelosi can get them back up to 150 or 200 days of work a year. Yeah, right. Brad and Angina (sp?) are still in the news thanks to a media who really thinks we care. This sounds just like myBlog # 1. Why do I bother? |

Me, Myself and I "Me". Such a small word and yet so many have no idea how to use it, or worse, where to use it. I only got "C's" in high school English but can do better that many "smarter" kids do today. Examples: 1) Give the ball to me. 2) My friend send me cigars for Christmas. 3) George sent a card to Tom and I (NOT!). If you remove Tom, you would see that it should be "George sent a card to me". It's the same with or without Tom. Even worse than "I" is "Tom and myself". Yuck! You could say: "I shot myself in the foot" though. 4) Where in the world did we come up with "Me and my friend went to the mall"? It's bad enough that we bend over backward to teach our kids Spanish (part of the whole Spanish thing I don't understand), but you'd think the kids today could at least learn the proper use of this simple word (me). Hey Kids: It's "My friend and I went to the mall." You must be making your teachers nuts! |
You guys: Have you noticed that virtually all waitresses and waiters refer to their customers as "you guys". This is an expansion of "you" (the opposite of a contraction). Therefore, you have a sentence: "Have you guys decided what you want to order?" Having accepted the expansion expression, one is often trapped into making further expansions, a sample of which follows. "Would you like your guyses bill now?" Again, Brilliant! Maybe they learn it in waiter school. Also, it seems to happen in the South more than in the North. Hmmmm. |
How come Republican and Democrat are capitalized, but voter, constituent and citizen are not? How come? |
myBlog 1st Edition
After listening and watching all the BS in the news, mags, phone and TV, I just can't take it anymore and have produced this non-internet blog (myBlog) which may or may not be issued again. But, I don't care.
On Polit(r)ics and the elections:
Hey Republicans! Did you get the message???
Hey Democrats did YOU get the message? Don't think it is now your turn to do what you like.
Our gov't is NOT your personal barnyard!!! We don't like our officials to steal, cheat, butt f*** 16 year olds and work only 100 days a year while earning about $150K ($1500/day) plus perks for it while your average constituent across this great land only earns $33K and works 240 days for it ($137.50/day).
On Iraq: Come up with an answer somewhere between "pulling out now" and "stay the course". Removing Rummy is a start (See $1500/day).
On Senator Foley: He has been released from rehab after "volunteering" to go (hide?) and then staying another couple of weeks of his own volition. He must be cured now, huh. But he shouldn't have to go to jail like the rest of would, huh.
On the "Duke" of Hazzard: Gee with just 5 years of insider rehab (what does his church call it? Restoration?) he will be whole again (you know, not flip flopping from gay to straight as the "spirit" moves him) and then lying about it. I don't know if that includes drug rehab though. Funny how these Uber Rev's (lying sacks of shit!) don't have to go to jail like the rest of us. Remember Jimmy Swaggart. Gee - - - a hazard and a swagger. What does that tell us? It amazes me that his followers can still forgive him,. I feel sorry for his wife. I hope she showers regularly. To the "restorers": Don't turn your back on this guy.
On intrusions: We just finished another despicable round of incessant visual and verbal abuse by our esteemed representatives running for office. The most offensive part though, is the "do not call" law they themselves signed into law and intentionally leaving political calls off the list. BASTARDS! And now they plan to do this on your cell phones since someone has figured out the land line, mail, TV and news paper approach didn't work (Duh). Well, I for one, will be letting Verizon know that I won't pay for these calls. We should all call our phone companies now. After all it's only 2 years till the next elections. God help us!
Finally: Who gives a damn that Tom Cruise is getting married or that Brittany is getting divorced?
Ahhh. Now I feel better. Yes, you can pass this on.
myBlog 2nd edition.
Wal-Mart was one of the first stores to have the new Play Station 3 for sale. People lined up for 3 DAYS to get one. When one store opened, Wal-Mart announced that they only had 10 units and then proceeded to line up about 50 teen age boys for a dash to the ten units. There were numerous injuries that ensued. BRILLIANT!!
Who would have thought I'd be able to have a 2nd issue so soon?
